Find Non-judgmental Support with
Angie Yeung,
Mental Health Counselor
About Me
I am a limited permit mental health counselor practicing in New York State. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from The City College of New York and completed my internship at another counseling practice. I identify as Asian American and welcome questions and discussions about our respective cultural backgrounds, as I believe that aspects of our identities continually influence how we connect with ourselves and others. I identify as cishet, and my pronouns are she/her. Although I am not a practicing Catholic, I have attended Catholics schools and understand some of the nuances of a religious upbringing.
My Specialties
I provide therapy to adults of all ages and people of all backgrounds, including BIPOC individuals and those in the LGBTQ+ community. I work with individuals motivated to explore their various identities, work on their relationships to self and others, self-esteem, communication skills, depression, and ADHD/executive function. I will work with you to make steps towards any personal goal you have in mental health, wellness, education, and career.
What Inspired Me To Be A Therapist
I have always been interested in making sense of what drives our thoughts and actions. Mental health is an important factor, among many other factors, such as socioeconomic status, physical health, etc., that influences how we feel and function in life’s bigger moments and in the day-to-day. As important as I believe it is, mental health was not spoken about in my upbringing in a positive way. So when it became more normalized to talk about mental health, I began to learn more about it. Realizing that I care very much about mental health, I decided to make a career change to dedicate my professional life to supporting others in making positive changes in their lives through counseling.
My Approach
I am person-centered first. No need to earn respect here or be worried about judgment. I see you as a human being inherently worthy of dignity, respect, and autonomy. I strive to be warm, caring, and compassionate in my approach. I will likely use a strengths-based approach and draw on skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), or somatic techniques. I will try my best to tailor the approach to your needs.

hang out with my cat, eat delicious food, and be active!
