Nida Ahmed,
LMHC

I am a bilingual mental health counselor in the State of New York. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Pace University. I obtained my Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. John’s University and obtained licensure in New York State. I am presently pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in global mental health, through Teachers College Columbia University.

My approach to therapy is very solution-oriented. I believe there should be a point to therapy-whether it is to gain insight, build confidence, gather the tools you need to get through the many challenges life can present. If we can get there using humor, science, and determination- all the better!

The therapeutic relationship is very important, especially in the beginning stages. It can be helpful for you to have a general sense of what you hope to process or build upon in your life, but this can also be a collaborative process. Generally, I provide a very motivating foundation in session and it is one of the many tools I hope to share with you!
